Contrary to popular belief, prayer works. Always has and always will. This is not my first blog post about prayer. I’m sure this won’t be the last, due to its importance, advantages and even its misconception. I was conversing with someone recently and they questioned the potency of prayer. This conversation sparked this post. I’ve had many encounters in prayer and I’m sold out. It WORKS, people. The issue often lies in people wanting God’s presents without wanting His presence. God is not about to give you any presents if you won’t get in His presence.
Why am I so convinced on its potency? My belief is NOT in the ability, size or length of my prayer. But in the PERSON who is responding to it. That is a master key. God is the One answering our prayers. He changes not. He is the same “yesterday, today and forever,” says the author of the book of Hebrews. Hence, God is ALWAYS listening. I don’t know how He does it. But, I’m grateful He does. No prayer ever goes unanswered, not one. He ALWAYS answers our prayers. We may not like the answers. A “no” when we want a “yes.” a “wait” when we want a “now.”
Lack of desired answers often seems like God answers not. People confute the strength of Prayer. They say prayer doesn’t work. However, it is their faith that doesn’t work. Our faith moves God to complete our prayers. This may sound like an oxymoron. It is either we have working faith or have no faith at all. Everyone has a measure of faith. Jesus never talked about the existence of the people’s faith or lack thereof but rather the SIZE.
The SIZE of your faith determines the SIZE of your answered prayers. Big prayers ask for big faith, like walking on water. Faith can be compared to strength. Calculating on the weight of any load is going to depend on how many people we are going to need to help lift or carry that load. Asking people of little faith to pray for you is like asking someone who doesn’t know how to write, write you a letter of recommendation. Match your faith to your problems. Little faith can’t sustain big problems. It is time to embrace the truth, if your faith is adjusted, your prayers will work, always!
Amen to that Sis! Prayer is the one the most intimate ways that we can connect with God. Intimacy is vital to our spiritual lives because it is the means by which we stay connected to God and ultimately bear fruit. Jesus Himself stated our Heavenly Father is glorified when we bear much fruit (John 15:8). Therefore, a consistent strong prayer life should be the goal of every believer. Thanks for the reminder Sis 🙂

Dope post. Prayer works. My favorite line: the issue often lies with people wanting God’s presents without wanting His presence.
