Boaz is Looking for Ruth

It is often mentioned that all women are waiting to meet their Boaz. He is both a prince charming and a knight in shinning armor. He is coming to sweep every lady off her feet. Betroth her and live happily ever after.

Here is a disclaimer; Boaz is NOT for every woman. I’m not talking about the “name” Boaz I’m talking about the “man” Boaz, the man with the purpose, the dreams, the vision. He is the man with the right financial plan. He is very chivalrous, very romantic and very charismatic. He is mature. He is not frugal; he loves to shower you with gifts. He knows how to dance, making you feel like the only woman in the room. He is Mr. Right, perfect gentleman, the whole works. He is madly in love with you. Well, assuming that you are Ruth.

Are you Ruth?

We are so focused on getting hitched with Boaz that we forget that he isn’t looking for just any woman. The Proverbs 31 Woman gets more hype than Ruth and yet it was Ruth that Boaz chose. I’m not implying that Ruth was not a proverbs 31 woman. So, who is Ruth? I’m not talking about your name being Ruth but having a noble character like Ruth. She was loyal, caring and obedient to her mother-in-law. She was a hard worker. She was a servant, by that I mean, she knew how to cater to a man. Don’t get so caught up on making sure you are getting a “Boaz.” Work on yourself ensuring that you are the “Ruth” he is looking for. Wait on the man that God has for you. Whoever he may be.

Some women pursue a man that acts like a gentleman, forgetting that he has a purpose she has to help him with. As women, we ought to help the man with his purpose. If you don’t see yourself waiting years for what God has for your husband, going after Abram won’t work for you. If you don’t like humble beginnings, David won’t be good for you. God is starting him off as a shepherd before he becomes King. If you want to be the only woman in his life, going after Solomon won’t be good for you.

So, if you are Ruth, by all means, wait on Boaz. However, if you are a Rachel, you have no business waiting on Boaz. Wait on your Jacob

If you are Eve, wait for your Adam.
If you are Zipporah, wait for your Moses.
If you are Hannah, wait on your Elkanah.
If you are Gomer, wait for your Hosea.
If you are Esther, wait for King Xerxes
If you are Elizabeth, wait for your Zechariah.
If you are Mary, wait on your Joseph.

Discover who you are and be just that. The right man will find you at the right time and at the right place.

    1. Thanks for reading Stacy 🙂 The other man in the bible needs love too. Hahaha. When I think of Jacob, I say to myself, he was willing to work 21 years to be able to marry Rachel. This is a strong love right there.

  1. Dope piece! There is way too much hype on “Ruth and Boaz” but not enough on the traits that make them perfect for each other in God’s eyes. It’s crucial that women discover who they are in the Lord before making that next step romantically.

  2. Ede-m di set kout beni swa Leternel!!! Amen and Amen, Boaz is looking for a Ruth. Out of all the women in his field she is the only one wired to catch his eye. May that Ruth anointing fall on us all. May God propel us to serve, love, submit, commit and prosper as Ruth did in Jesus name 😊
