Dear Miriam

 Dear Miriam,

There is nothing juicer than a piece of rumor or drama that is forbidden. When you know something they say, “don’t tell anyone” that’s when you have the hitchiest itch to tell someone. Nevertheless, when one desires to serve God they must lose the appetite for such craving. Predominantly gossip is sin. It is not easy to live a godly life. At times, the things you shouldn’t do are what your body craves the most. To speak against someone is not a good thing. God forbids gossip. If you would dare to gossip about someone who God walks and talks with … You are sure to get reprimanded by Him real quick.

You didn’t gossip about your pastor, or your parent. You gossiped about Moses, your little brother, your peer. That should have been acceptable right? Moses did something that was wrong too, that should have been gossip-able right??? Not at all.  He was a leader and everything he did was under scrutiny. He was an imperfect man being judge by his imperfect sister. God didn’t like it not one bit. So he punished you.

But you know what Miriam? You aren’t alone. I have been your shoes and perhaps the person reading is once wore your shoes as well. Clearly it is dishonest to gossip about people. We must put an end to this.

Modern day Miriam, shun gossip. To even save your life and reputation, you must even shun those who love to gossip. At all cost shun gossippers and gossip! Gossip is a sin; it will alienate you from God. Sin gratifies the flesh in the moment and kills the spirit. Here are three essential points to take away from this. If people gossip to you about others, they will gossip to others about you. What you say behind someone’s back goes directly to the ears of God. The person you are talking bad about is the person that God is going to utilize to bring forth your breakthrough. Beware what you say about them.
