Elsie Isidore – Stronger with Her

From her mother’s womb, Elsie has been called and marked for a purpose bigger than her. She is a clone of Madea, full of charisma, humorous and very merry. She lightens the atmosphere with much laughter. But, behind all the laughter, there is a load of suffering. She has a testimony that will preach all by itself. She dominated a very painful past and traumatic experience as a teenager. She was assaulted and became pregnant as a result, leaving her as a very young teenage mother. Habitually, after traumatic experiences and the like, people tend to run away from God, inquisitive about His goodness. However, this has ushered her to Him all the more. She loves and trusts His plans for her life. She has a Job in her, though He “slayed her still she trusts Him.” She has the ability to endure hardship and remain unmoved. She is a force to be reckoned with. When many have failed she has excelled. As a single mom, she raised her children, bought a home and is tearing down strongholds for the Lord.

Here is my virtual interview with Elsie:

  1. What do you do?
I am a Practice Manager at a University Hospital
  2. What’s one thing you would like the audience to know about you?
I’m a God fearing, loyal, resilient, optimistic, and always reading a self-improvement book. Now the other side of me is very humorous and always the life of the party.
  3. How do you deal with failures, hardships, judgmental and pessimistic people?
I take failures as an opportunity to learn, failure allows room to excel and build momentum. I must say being a leader has taught me to effectively adapt to my environment. I have the opportunity to work with different personalities, which stretches me to discover strengths I never thought I had. My job is not a walk in the park as people are always counting on you to solve the problems, one thing I will say is that I make it my business to always have a positive outlook on what the day is going to bring, I’m always reinforcing positive behaviors and hold myself to that standard as well.
  4. What is the one thing that you would say contributed most to your success?
After God I think my ambition and my determination to be who God called me to be. When I look at my life now and see how God delivered me from the many arrows the enemy throws my way, I am a firm believer that there is a God orchestrating each and everyone of our lives. Each time I felt like giving up, there was always this quiet voice on the inside of me saying “Elsie you have purpose, stay the course and I will be the lifter of your head” and each time I heard this voice I held on to the little faith I had, encouraged myself and kept on going.
  5. What advice would you offer women wanting to be like you and make a difference?
There are times in your life where you are going to question the very existence of God, but just remember the teacher is always quiet in the classroom during the test. Never give up on the purpose, never give up on your dreams and never give up on your journey because your journey carries your purpose. If we remain faithful to God, He will show himself faithful in your life. Remember that each time God delivers us out of something it is always for the betterment of His kingdom and to for us help someone else find their purpose.

Everyone desires a wound-free life but we no one can ever retreat from experiencing problems. We just have to brace ourselves and grow through it. I’m stronger with her as I learn to grow through the misfortunes of life. I’m learning that failure “allows room to excel and build momentum.”

Here is to a happy life with lots of love Elsie
Cheers!
